What is DashFiles?
DashFiles is a simple file sharing service. You drag a file onto the page, and you get a link you can share with others. That's it.
There's no account creation, no subscription fees, no ads, and no tracking. It's just a straightforward tool for when you need to share a file quickly.
Why did we build this?
Honestly? We got tired of existing file sharing services. They either:
- Required creating accounts for simple tasks
- Had confusing interfaces with too many features
- Pushed premium subscriptions aggressively
- Made sharing files more complicated than it needed to be
We wanted something that worked like the old-school internet—simple, direct, and without unnecessary friction.

What we don't do
To keep things simple, we deliberately don't include features that complicate the core experience:
- User accounts or login systems
- File organization or folders
- Collaboration tools
- Version control
- Integration with other services
- Analytics or tracking
If you need those features, there are other services better suited for your needs.
Technical details
DashFiles is built with modern web technologies and hosted on reliable cloud infrastructure. Files are stored securely and transferred over HTTPS.
Privacy
We don't track users, scan file contents, or sell data to third parties. The only information we collect is basic usage statistics to keep the service running smoothly.
Your files are accessible to anyone who has the link, so only share links with people you trust. We don't have any special access controls or password protection features.
Sustainability
DashFiles runs on a simple model: we cover hosting costs and keep the service free for reasonable usage. If costs grow beyond what we can manage, we might introduce usage limits or optional paid features, but the core service will remain free.
We're not venture-funded or looking to "scale rapidly" or "disrupt the industry." We just want to maintain a useful tool that works well.
Future plans
We'll continue improving reliability and may add small quality-of-life features based on user feedback. But the core philosophy won't change: keep it simple, keep it fast, keep it free.
If you have suggestions or run into problems, you can reach us through the usual channels. We read everything, even if we don't always respond immediately.
